Supported Working in North Durham

Many people think that because of your MS you are unable to work; and even if you want to there is no help available. Help is at hand. There is a wonderful organisation provided by Durham County Council called DurhamEnable

(https://durhamenable.info/) that provides free, ongoing supported employment for County Durham residents aged 18 years and over.

DurhamEnable works one-to-one with jobseekers and employers, to break down the barriers to paid work faced by people with disabilities, neurodiversities and long term health conditions. You can contact them on by e-mail:

DurhamEnable@durham.gov.uk or by phone 03000 269 899.

It is a self-referral service and a form can be found on their website. If you are not online please contact me on (0191) 386 0006 and I will send you a form. But what about benefits and DWP I hear you ask? DurhamEnable is partly funded by the DWP which recognises DurhamEnable and its job coaches as providers of supported employment for disabled people working closely with the job centre.
