Disability North is a local charity which has supported disabled people, carers, older people and healthcare professionals for over 25 years.
With a brand new website now launched, a host of useful information is available at the click of a button.
The site includes information on welfare and benefits, workshops and independent living, and even has a benefits calculator so that people can work out exactly what could be available to them.
A specialist welfare benefits team (that can be accessed through Alistair our Lead Support Volunteer 0191 386 0006 or email firstname.lastname@example.org) provides impartial and one-to-one confidential advice and support; from advising on what is available, helping to complete forms (including those online), to providing representations at tribunals.
Currently this service is only funded to provide support to residents from Newcastle, Sunderland and Durham.
Workshops are also open for disabled people living in the North of England who require advice and guidance on welfare benefits matters.
